One area where our meditation practice can help us is in difficult conversations that we may have with other people, both in being grounded in our own power by feeling how our body feels, and also in creating empathic understanding of others.
Body meditation – bringing attention to and deeply feeling the sensations in the body – is a great place to start a meditation practice, as well as a technique that can provide a lifetime of enlivening and vitality. There are various ways to perform the technique.
When we feel body sensations – emotional or otherwise – all the way down to their bottom so that they are complete and done with, we may find that their energy has totally moved through, and nothing feels “stuck” or incomplete about them.
When we bring our attention to our body, we will notice that body sensations can emerge from various different sources.
When we practice meditation, we want to sit as still possible. Generally, the more our body settles down, the more our mind will settle down.
